“The Spiritual Child - Second Encounter”

Wisdom Point: “Unity Is Oneness,
Oneness With All Of God's Creations"

Bismillahir-Rahmanir-Rahim. In the Name of God, the Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate. Al-salam 'alaykum. May all the peace, the beneficence, and the blessings of God be upon all of us.

Let us spend some time together again talking about the Spiritual Child that needs to be born and raised within each of us, if we are ever to see God again, and this child's second encounter with the Spiritual Child that has awakened within him, and has started on the path to maturity. One day I was at the Bawa Muhaiyaddeen Fellowship and Bawa was back in Ceylon, now called Sri Lanka, and I was sitting on the landing reading one of the books that had been published by the Fellowship which contained discourses by His Holiness.
That Is, On the landing, before the Mosque of Shaikh Muhaiyaddeen (Ral.) was built by Bawa, and you could see out into the backyard of the Fellowship, and I was reading His words, looking into the backyard and reflecting on them.
All of a sudden something within me said,
"Bawa, I do not know what You mean by Unity! You must give me an experience of what You mean by Unity or I cannot go any further".
This was my second encounter with the Spiritual Child within me.
I was looking out the window when the Spiritual Child within me spoke directly to Bawa, and as soon as His request to Bawa finished, a flock of birds flew right in front of the window and did a U-turn, and Bawa said to the Spiritual Child,
“That is unity. When the birds turn like that there is only One bird there, there is only One consciousness there at that moment. They could not turn like that, as One, if they were in the state of separation and difference, as individual bird consciousnesses”.
“That is unity - Oneness, the state of becoming One with all of God's creation through wisdom and God's qualities, and through the experience of that Oneness, understanding and becoming One with God”.
This answer again changed my life, in two way. One, when you first encounter something very different from your previous life experiences, you accept it partially, but you have no reference for it. It is difficult to immediately embrace, and you put it on the shelf for later confirmation.
So it was for this child, when I first experienced the Spiritual Child within me in the movie theater - please click HERE if you want to read about my first experience with the Spiritual Child - that is one thing, but when you have the same experience a second time, and it is even more profound than the first experience, then it becomes very real. And this second encounter with the Spiritual Child within me solidified Him within me. Now for me there was no doubt, He was there. He was within me. He wasn't me, and yet He was me. He was me happening. What a wonder!
My dearest loving brothers and sisters, this theme of Unity as Oneness is the very heart of the life and teaching of His Holiness, Shaikh Muhammad Rahim Bawa Muhaiyaddeen (may God be pleased with Him).
